Our Story
Bass fishing and coffee? We never saw it coming either until the summer of 2019.

Steve's wife and youngest son were fortunate enough to travel to Guatemala with a student group from North Central College's Enactus program. The college had been going on this trip twice a year for 15 years at this point. The impact on Amy and Cody was life changing. When they returned a plan was set in place to sell more beans so more families in the San Lucas community could sell at direct-trade pricing creating a more sustainable model. A model where the small plot famers (entrepreneurs!) can reinvest in their business and afford things like proper medical care and an education for their children.

This is when their experience and Steve's love of bass fishing came together, and Bass Fishing Life Coffee Co. was born. Outdoor enthusiasts are often passionate about quality coffee. I think you'll agree, this is some good stuff!

The coffee: 100% single origin Arabica coffee sourced from the Atitlan region of Guatemala. Shade grown in rich volcanic soil, our coffee is produced and harvested at an ideal altitude of 5,200-6,000 ft. above sea level. Roasted at a light, medium, or dark level, this coffee has tasting notes of cocoa, citrus, peach, berries, slight floral, and caramel. The coffee is roasted and packaged in North Central College's Coffee Lab.
